Overflowing with ancient beauty and unique architecture, Hoi An's Old Town gained its UNESCO World Heritage status in 1999 for its extremely well-preserved traditional wooden architecture, making it the only town in Vietnam to have survived intact in this way. Hoi An can be characterized by its iconic yellow walls, vibrant lantern festivals and Japanese Covered Bridge which symbolizes a fusion of Japanese, Vietnamese, and Chinese cultures. Alongside admiring the beautiful architecture of the ancient town you can explore Hoi An's famous Night Market, spin along the coconut forest on a basket boat tour or try a delicious Bánh Mì (a Vietnamese baguette sandwich).

Japanese Covered Bridge
Hoi An's most recognizable landmark, the Japanese Covered Bridge, was built in the 17th century and is a unique combination of Vietnamese, Japanese and Chinese culture and styles. The bridge symbolizes a path to tranquility and the ethereal.

Did you know, Vietnam is the second-largest coffee producer in the world? Make sure you explore all the different coffee shops tasting everything from creamy coconut coffee and egg coffee to a traditional Vietnamese iced coffee made with condensed milk.
Beautiful Beaches
Some of Vietnam's most beautiful coastline sits 10 minutes from the old town. Clear water, quiet stretches of sand and some great beach bars

Good to know
- The villa is located outside of town, by the rice fields, a quiet and comfortable base for a longer stay. It's around 50 minutes' walk to the central area, but bicycles are provided.
- If you are not comfortable biking, car services like Grab are easily available.
- Some local shops and restaurants close during Tết (around Feb 6). Plan meals and activities in advance for the last few days of the Edition.

We'll be staying in Cẩm Thanh Ward, a peaceful and green area just outside Hoi An's Ancient Town. It offers a calm, rural atmosphere while still being only a short bike ride from the historic center, cafés, markets, and riverside life.

Getting Around
The Ancient Town is largely pedestrian-friendly, and cycling is one of the best ways to explore Hoi An. For longer distances, ride-hailing apps like Grab are widely used and very affordable.
